4-24-08Essay I am very in favor for the new Field and pool. It will help a lot to have extra’s added on to the school it will make the school seem more classy. Also, I hope that we can keep up with all the supplies and needs of both the pool and field. The reasons why I agree with building a new pool and extra field is we can have more than one game going on at a time. Also, we can have the public run the track while a game is going on that way they can have more flexibility and don’t have to worry about waiting till the game is over. Also, we can have a diving and swimming team for cape that way we can have a better team. Also, we can have the swim practices at the high school and not the YMCA. Lastly, students could do sports instead of getting in trouble and staying out of drugs. Next, the pool would be a great idea for a social for all the students that was good. They could have like one pool party at the end of each month or marking period. Then there is a good chance for our team to have the best teams in almost every sport with this new field and pool. It would make more students want to come to cape.  This is why I know that this will be a great plan to have this extra field and pool. I am so happy that we might get a pool. I love to swim so that will be great. Than the entire big swim fans can come out to the high school to watch the races instead of other local pools.

Book Review # 7 The Witch of Blackbird PondBy: Elizabeth George Speare  A Sixteen year old girl Kit Tyler has lived her whole life with her grandfather in Barbados. Than in 1687 her grandfather died and she had to go stay with her aunt and uncle in the colony of Connecticut. The town started to think that all of the things she has that she is wealthy and her ability to swim and they think she could be doing witch craft. She is so lonely that she becomes friends with this elderly woman Hannah who was run out of Massachusetts because of her suspicion of her religion and the practice of witchcraft. She starts developing feeling for Nat the son of the captain on the boat that she came over on. Than a deadly illness comes through the town her and Hannah were the ones blamed and Kit was put on the witch trials. Nat comes to her rescue and later she is set free and the charges were dropped.   This book was a great book I recommend it to any student that wants to know a little bit about the things that made you suspicious of witch craft back than. Also, it has a little romance between Kit and Nat. The book helps a lot with what happens in 1687 with the witch trials and shows that they blame anyone that is suspicious.
